The 1994 Olympic sweater has cemented its place in history as a design icon. For years, enthusiasts scoured vintage stores or picked up their knitting needles to secure a piece. Now, its back in our collection, reimagined to appeal to both loyal fans and new generations.

The updated 1994 sweater retains the distinctive symbols inspired by Norse mythology but is crafted in a thinner, softer yarn, with an improved fit and refreshed color palette. Knitted at our factory in Dale, Norway, it is made of 100% wool just like the original.

1994 sweater in natural off white/beige (colorway M00) is made from premium undyed lightweight wool, utilizing the natural colors of the animal fiber. This approach not only highlights the beauty of the wool in its most authentic form but also preserves its natural qualities by eliminating the dyeing process, resulting in a garment that is as natural as it is stylish.

A modern update to one of our biggest successes ever, our official Olympic sweater from the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. While the shape has been updated, the pattern remains more or less unchanged from the original: consisting of symbols and figures from Norse mythology. A feminine, loose cut with a dipped back length gives this nearly 30-year-old classic a modern look.

Our undyed version of the 1994 sweater (color M00) is made from premium undyed lightweight wool from Uruguay, utilizing the natural colors of the animal fiber, ranging from darker to brighter tones. These different shades are sorted and blended into mlanges, creating a limited range of natural colors. Since there is no dyeing process involved, the yarn remains 100% natural and biodegradable. The absence of dyeing eliminates the need for the chemicals typically used in this process, while also conserving resources like water and energy.
